This is pretty much what it says. I haven't used watercolor pencils since I was in grade school. :D Things have changed a bit in that amount of time.
Derwent Studio colored pencils
Derwent Watercolour pencils
Prismacolor Pencils
Strathmore Water Color Paper
The line art was printed onto the watercolor paper; then I went at it with the pencils. I used the Studio colored pencils for the tree trunk and the Watercolour pencils for everything else. A couple of spots were dabbed with the Prismacolors.

This is beautiful! I have some watercolor pencils hanging out in my room somewhere. You've inspired me to get them out and start using them. (Of course, when I get home!)

Thank you for those kind words and the fave.

It seems to want a bit more "finishing".

True.
I've used the Prismacolor Pencils for years.
The Derwent Studio colored pencils are new for me and I like the way they handle on the paper. I shall have to use them on smooth stock next time. Derwent Watercolour pencils are a whole new thing for me. I was having issues with the pigment blending and going where I didn't really plan it to go when I brushed plain water over it. It is very much an interesting medium.

Nifty. I like the texture you get with the pencils.

Thank you very much. It is an interesting medium. I was going to use the acrylic wash/glaze technique for this; but, the pencils were on sale at a very good price. :D
