Artist's CommentsCopics of various sorts and white gel pen, over a Photoshop CS4 line art print on 80 pound cover stock, of a goldfish I drew for this test. This is going to AX 2009. EDIT: After posting, I finished another version of this little fellow with a lighter setting on the lines, and denser colors throughout. Why? Because it needed to be done. They are both going to AX 2009. EDIT 2: Both versions sold. CommentsThank you. I've been so busy painting lately, I've come close to falling asleep at my keyboard. Congratulations on your two shows, my dear. My apologies for not saying that sooner. I will have to try harder to comment on your posts and find out how they went.

you did a wonderful artwork here.
How you let change the colors of the goldfish from the almost pure white of the tail to the bright and dark orange at his mouth is very smart and beautiful. I also enjoy that the bubles are not really round, but allcurved and have the highlights. Another wonderful clever idea is that you painted the tail a bit translucent.
The only little nitpick I have is the blue, especially at the upper fin. I can see where the copic marker stopped and started. I have no idea how you can do this different, but it looks a bit like a halo...
But overall, Kate, a really beautiful artwork!
