With the arrival of the end of the year holidays I find myself a bit fogbound amidst the preparations for our family’s celebrations. I would like to wish all of you who keep it, a very

For those of you who do not, I wish you peace, hope, health, and joy.

Thanks to all of you who have stopped by, wandered through the galleries, left comments, faved pieces, and devwatched here. I appreciate you all more than you know. Thank you.

The artist from whom I inherited this meme. There is some interesting storytelling, in a variety of media, in Ellen’s work.

Whether in black and white, or in color, Steve’s photographs are beautifully evocative pieces that share the beauty of the world around him in the unexpected as well as the “ordinary”. I find it extremely difficult to limit myself to only three photographs.

Lorna, talented lady that she is, creates/builds beautifully you-can-live-in-it “costume” garb as well as beautiful digital paintings and nearly surreal fantastic photomanipulations.

Loves animals, manga, anime, cosplay, and Sweeny Todd with near boundless enthusiasm.

A science teacher who takes gallery quality photos of a lovely variety of subjects. His is another gallery where I find it extremely difficult to limit myself to only three pieces.

A young lady who might just have quite a future in photography.

Sam doesn't just "do surrealism". His portfolio encompasses a bit more than that, go explore.

Is a friend, a "critter person" and a lady with a wonderful sense of humor, as you can see.

Does some very interesting character work.

Rochelle is an illustrator who is capable of handling a wide variety of styles and media.

Comes by his sense of humor quite honestly. If you think "he just paints miniature figures", then look again, closely. If you enjoy steampunk you'll find that in his gallery as well.

Updates:

When in the course of human events...
it becomes interesting to note, as life progresses, how much better we can understand
our own parents' (and grandparents' ) reactions to situations in which we find ourselves.

As anyone can tell you, who has dealt with this, bright 2-3 year old children, are much more capable of creative applications of low level reconnaissance than the most intelligent, inquisitive, dogs and cats I’ve known.

Thanks to all of you who have stopped by, wandered through the galleries, left comments, faved pieces, and devwatched here. I appreciate you all more than you know. Thank you.

When in the course of human events...
AND HAVING JUST UNINTENTIONALLY MUCKED UP THE PREVIOUS JOURNAL *aarrrggghhhh!*....
your home contains not one, but two artist’s studios....

All artworks are on hold until we can think again.
The house is still being rendered kid-safer.
Hastily moved art works and supplies have been recovered and clients have been warned.
The house is cleaner, work schedules are still getting sorted out, lost, trashed, recovered....
patience is still very much appreciated.

The oldest commission is now in place to be worked on first, then I can get back to the small, newer, experiments.

your home contains not one, but two artist’s studios....

All artworks are on hold until we can think again.

Fun with Murphy's Law

Anime Expo was tons of fun, and the

and I met some delightful new friends, got to chat with long-time friends, see some gorgeous art, and handle some cool new art tools.

The week after AX saw me getting art shipped off to a client and packing up the art I'll have in the art show at Comic Con.

This past weekend saw our son drop in from out of state for an overnight visit on Friday. My husband accidentally shorted out half the wiring in the kitchen, blowing a circuit breaker (it would have blown no matter who set up the appliance) that evening. Saturday morning the electrician stopped by, I explained the problem, and an appointment was made to fix it today (all fixed at this time). Saturday afternoon it was time to head for Echo Park for the LA Dev Meet. The three of us who went had a great time, met more new friends and associates, and learned a bunch. During this time, because I am not supposed to use shoulder bags, backpacks, or similar totes, my slacks were sneakily tossing things out of my pockets. I think it was Randomduck that found my inhaler. Thank you again for that. Sometime after that, the card case with my driver's license escaped my possession. I discovered that after we had gotten back home, I'd printed out my son's boarding pass (the thing didn't want to print), got son in the car, picked up my hubby from work, gotten son off on his flight, and come home and finally emptied my pockets. Joy!!!

All the people/companies/institutions I needed to contact immediately have been contacted. Replacement cards are en route. New trousers with much safer pockets have been ordered. I get to go in to the DMV on Monday to get the driver's license replaced. Meanwhile my managing errands and the driving around type of errands is right out.

It has been interesting, and a bit distracting; but life is good, and definitely not boring.
