More fun with the Baklava

The computer is back again. The RAID is found and working. The bad news is that my fumbling attempts to follow the very confusing instructions caused another data loss on those drives. Data has been re-copied to the array from the externals. Apparently there is a flaw in the new motherboard's circuitry dealing with speaker recognition. I'm using a work-around adapter connector in order to have sound; it just isn't the high-end sound the board promises. I'll call the vendor of the board, yes it is still under warranty, but I don't want to deal with more weeks of downtime anytime soon.

It is my turn to experience what thankfully so many others have; discovering the new post-cancer me. Figuring out my personal limitations, so that I can approach them at sub-sonic speeds; thereby possibly allowing me to sneak around them, rather than doing the very messy crash and burn bit, is next on my agenda.
